Eleanor L. Richardson papers, 1967-1990.

The collection consists of papers of Eleanor L. Richardson from 1967-1990. The bulk of the collection pertains to her service in the Georgia House of Representatives (1974-1990). The papers include correspondence to constituents and to various organizations and officials; personal files, including clippings, awards, invitations, and memorabilia; and political files consisting of Georgia General Assembly press releases, copies of house bills, office records, and records from Richardson's campaigns. The collection also includes subject files consisting of pamphlets and other printed material, reports, list, notes, and clippings providing background information relating to legislation and to her other political and civic interests. The collection documents Richardson's legislative work on such issues as the status of women and the Equal Rights Amendment, teaching creationism, air quality control, child abuse, and nursing home reform.
